Any puppies with a hernia will have limited registration (no breeding rights, spay/neuter contract will be in place. No price reductions for these registries) If you paid extra for breeding rights, you will be reimbursed that price difference of $150.00. Hernias can be caused by many factors, the parents do not have any genetic dispositions to produce this issue so common factor is mom was too rough chewing on the cord. In 9 years we've only had 3 puppies end up with a hernia but with annual updates all are in great health. This can be surgically repaired during a spay/neuter, or you can choose to let your dog have an "outtie" belly button. There are NO REFUNDS or REIMBURSEMENTS as this is NOT a life long health concern. Do your research on the breed you want, these issues are more common in small breeds so best to have your knowledge before comitting. While heart murmurs are relatively common in puppies, especially in smaller breeds, they can be either innocent (benign) or indicate a potential underlying heart condition. Innocent murmurs often disappear as the puppy matures, between 4-8 months old, while murmurs caused by heart defects may require further investigation and treatment. If your puppy has a heart murmur, and does not go away by 8 months old, email or send a veterinary exam (AFTER 7 months of age!) and you will recieve $100 reimbursement only if there is a cognetial effect that requires ongoing care. --In 8 years of breeding, we've NEVER had this problem, as our program is to produce healthy puppies which is why the parents are genetically tested. All dogs and puppies sold with no breeding rights are dual registered with ALL North American Registries in our name. So if you purchase a puppy without breeding rights and you breed later and try to dual register with a paw evaluation with CKC or NKC or ICA or any other registry, you will not be able to. You will also be contacted and fined by your local attorney generals office. This is for the protection of our dogs & our business. So please be honest and up front when filling out an application. We've combined practical guidelines with high breeding standards to support the proper development and enhancement of our breeds and where and how they're raised and cared for. We provide support and resources to our guardian homes to aid in the establishment of a superior breeding program. This is For all of our breeds not just Dalmatians. ONLY PEOPLE WITH WHELPING EXPERIENCE AND OTHER REPUTABLE BREEDERS WILL BE ALLOWED TO KEEP FEMALES WHAT IS A GUARDIAN HOME A guardian home program is where we place our breeding prospects with local families and we retain the breeding rights and ownership, until he or she is retired from our program. Once they are retired, full ownership will transfer to the guardian family and they will get to keep the dog forever. Becoming a Guardian Home gives you the opportunity to have one of our puppies or young adults as a family pet while he or she remains in our program at no upfront cost to you! By offering the guardian program, we are able to ensure that our dogs get to live the best possible lives in a loving, caring home where they receive as much one on one attention as possible. DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR THE DOG IM GETTING? No, you will receive a top quality dog that has been hand selected by us to remain in our program at no upfront cost! WHAT EXPENSES IS A GUARDIAN HOME RESPONSIBLE FOR? Guardians are responsible for all “regular” dog care including providing food, treats, toys, etc. They are also responsible for normal vet care that is not breeding related. The dog must be kept UTD on all shots (tractor supply is fine just send a pic of the vaccines for record keeping), flea and tick meds, and heartworm meds at guardians expense. Guardians are also required to pay for grooming unless they opt to do it themselves. WHAT ARE REQUIREMENTS TO BE A GUARDIAN HOME? First and foremost I would like to just point out that my dogs DO NOT live in a kennel, they don't have puppies in kennels and puppies are not raised in a kennel. My dogs have been to the vet more times then I've been to a doctors office in 7 years. We take our dogs health and breeding program very seriously. We do NOT cross breed, inbreed or breed back to back. All our dogs get a brucellosis test before mating and have advanced cardiac exam done annually, as is required for the stud or damn, Females are examined by reproductive vet prior to planned breeding. All puppies come with first set of shots and microchipped and is your responsibility to register unless you purchase VIP. Pedigrees are exchanged, and a stress free environment is a necessary key to our home life as well. Our puppies are born in our bedroom, the quietest place in the house, and that's where mom and pups stay with no interaction with the other dogs or people except me and family for the first 1-2 weeks, then they are moved into our "puppy room to start training, puppy pad training, and crate training and deworming until they are ready to go to their new homes. After the puppies are gone, we take mom and our other dogs to the vet for fecal exams and nexgaurd/dewormer for the safety and precautions for everyone. Mom receives a check up, and sometimes an x ray just to be sure everything is looking healthy before we go back to living our adventurous life. Health Testing LUA vs HUA BAER Testing Other Health Tests HUA Dalmatians are often referred to by breeders as hu/hu or HUA- meaning they have two HyperUricosuria genes. LUA Dalmatians are referred as N/hu (if they have one of the normal genes in question) or N/N (if they have two copies of the normal gene. HUA Dalmatians are prone to urinary crystals/uric acid and kidney & bladder stones. After the LUA backcross breeding project, there are now a large number of LUA Dalmatians that don't carry the genetic defects of their ancestors. This hearing exam is a method to detect whether an animal can hear or not. Bilateral means deaf/affected in both ears. Unilateral means right/left is deaf but still make great pets, Unaffected means the dog can hear in both ears. Breeders use these results of BAER testing to help select unaffected breeding dogs and reduce risk of producing puppies with hearing loss. Dalmatian Club of America recommends that Bilaterally deaf puppies should be euthanatized by breeders, since they make poor pets, are difficult to train, can be prone to startling biting & require excessive care. Disgusting and sadly pathetic right? All breeder programs require certain health testing which is a vital piece of a responsible breeding program when heritable conditions are present. Baer testing, Hip dysplasia Finals, Eye certification, Thyroid, Genetic health tests and Phenotypic tests done by the vet. 'Pet only'- non breeders, don't have to worry so much about these things, however you should get these exams done at your vets recommendation as your dog grows older. Most/almost al l dogs have 1 or 2 copies of ALT which is one of several enzymes produced by the liver. IMPORTANTLY, this is NOT a health problem. I'll try and keep it short and simple. This is my opportunity to give a background on who I am, my core values with my dogs, my commitment to them and to customers and what my site has to offer and how I stand out from the crowd and how I got started on this professional journey. I'm a sucker for wanderlust, travel, adventure and love for animals. I got my first Dalmatian stuffed animal in the 90's, however; being so young, care free, and playing with friends and childhood games, I didn't desire a Dalmatian at the time because we already had a chocolate lab and a German Shepard. At age 22, I moved to Florida pursuing modeling, then California to join an agency, then las vegas. In 2015 I moved home and continued to fly for work in San Francisco doing production assisting for Maxum magazine and other collaborators. Three nights after flying back home I was in a car accident that changed my life. I was no longer able to fly for almost a year and feared driving. Life had changed. Surgeries, physical therapy, therapists, psychiatrists; I then decided to get a dog and a van and try to make changes. I did a few months of research before deciding which breed best suited my lifestyle. I found dude on Craigslist at 4 months old, I waited 2 weeks before making the final decision and I'm so glad I did. Then came Delilah because I wanted him to have a friend while I was at work and felt I wanted a girl of my own. Then one day, my mom gave me an old Dalmatian stuffed animal she said she found in my grandmothers basement. If that wasn't a sign of fate and destiny, I don't know what was! Now, about to turn 35, and 5 dogs and a school bus later, I've never been happier! My Goal in the beginning with my dogs wasn't to breed to "better genetics", it was to expand the breed that's been so rare for so long. Everyone always says, "you never see Dalmatians anymore". Well now after learning and growing and taking canine college and educating myself, my goals have expanded. I want to better genetics, I study as much as I'm able; I want to see more families raising their kids with Dalmatians and breaking the stigma of the reputation and provide information the newbies need for their new pups in an adequate manner and attend more AKC events (and get my kid involved). I started this and drug my family into it, haha. They're happy to play a role in what I'm trying to do. We don't raise our dogs in kennels, they are all home raised. I'm sure if I ever make it to 25 dogs, there will be doggy doors from the back doors leading to two large fenced in areas (one for boys, one for girls) leading to individual VERY LARGE heated insulated barn shed with beds for everyone, so they can choose to be outside, in their own private "home" or in the house with us. Haha, maybe I'll come up with some better ideas too, who knows. I believe I stand out from some breeders because I haven't heard much from people about breeders puppy pad training their puppies. yes ITS EXPENSIVE, but I know if i was buying a puppy, I would want my first week to be as convenient as possible in the simple steps of training so I go that extra mile to make sure they are crate trained and puppy pad trained before going to new homes. I also give them filtered water, NOT faucet because their health growth is important to me and those of you who filter your water, you know "ZERO WATER FILTERS" aren't cheap either, and I go through 2 a month now for me and my dogs, and maybe 3-4 in a month for us and the puppies when they're around 4-5 weeks old. I am most definitely a lifetime support breeder. I still talk to people from 3 years ago. I love dog lovers and I feel I make a connection with the people who buy puppies from me. There's so much more to come, only a fool can tell the future.
